Since 1993 Gens d'Ys is synonymous with Irish dance in Italy. Born to a group of friends of the Community Youth Busto Arsizio fans traditions "Celtic", soon became the first and only Italian academy dedicated to traditional dances of the Emerald Isle. After more than seventeen years, thanks to the contribution of new information, participation in classes taught by teachers in Ireland and especially to those of Sinead Venables, a former world champion, Gens d'Ys has now branched into a reality throughout the country with six branches active and dozens of collaborations with public institutions, private companies and trade associations. Thousands are students who over the years have been approach to Irish dance through the training courses and work experience required by the Academy. The group's repertoire ranges from Sports more traditional dance groups and soloists (Ceili and Step) to the new style of Irish show Riverdance and Lord of the Dance. This development then led to the creation of the musical "The Legend of Ys" first of its kind in Italy. The link between tradition and innovation is made possible by a passion for Irish dancing, which in turn is nourished by friendship between the members of the group shows, fundamental for the existence of the same.
